Howdy all, I was "looking for video of historical merit" and ran across this one. Being a 'seat of the pants' era tanker, I found this information fascinating and very informative. Check it out, and voice your opinions on the various aspects of this platform. Cheers!

Great video! The Armata family is very similar to the U.S. Army's cancelled Future Combat System designs, only that the Russians succeeded first and without limiting their FCSs to 20 tons.

I'm sorry ahead of time, but what a load of Russian propaganda . Trying to pass of features as revolutionary that other tanks have had for the last 50+ years? The story of the broken down T-14 in the last parade?? Hilarious, if it can't be driven in a parade without the driver getting "nervous and accidentally switching on the braking system" how will it fare in combat?? It would have been better to say that it simply broke down and has been fixed than give out that preposterous story. Ugh, can you tell I don't like the Armata??

Why, yes...yes I can I'm impressed that they were able to get 3 crewmen in the hull side by side and keep most all of the operating stuff in the turret. However, the claim about staying inside 'indefinitely' is spurious.
The one thing they have not shown in any video is the most important of all: how's it take a punch? Glass jaw? We'll see....

This vídeo reminds me those when two decades ago they tried to sell the T-90 as a top notch/ state of the art tank...
I don't like it at all, too.

I like the tank, especially the T-15 version. It may be the first non-WWII tank I do. And the video is kinda propoganda, but no different than a car commercial selling luxury, speed, and Matthew McConaughey at 0% APR.

Granted, this is straight-up root for the home team propaganda. What I found humorous was the sequence where the vehicles were spinning/turning in place and the announcer oohing & aahing as if this was some kind of new high-tech ability, when other tanks have been doing this for several years.

You mean the way Apple acts like the iPhone has been first with all of it's features?
The trick in advertising is to maintain that air of confidence in your product and to remember the masses don't know the history of product development.

Ok, its a direct sales pitch video, no different from any Military show & tell we've seen about Tanks like the Abrams or Leopard or even Helos like the Apache.
Several very good points to take note I reckon;
1. A family of AFV's all using the same chassis - this will stream line the spare parts inventory & make maintenance a lot easier & cheaper.
2. The 4 level vehicle protection system, not a 50yr old invention, still relatively new on the scene, but leaves the crew free to look for targets to engage. If the protection system works, this will work well fore crew efficiency.
3. The battlefield data system, though not a new idea, again simplifies the crew task & mission. This is why the same sorts of systems were introduced for American AFVs & scout & attack heilcopters.
Will it take a punch? Let's hope we never have to find out.

So what?
I do not get your point, you can also see crap in other channels and that does not make this vídeo any better...
I don't feel that History Channel is usually a source for people here in Armorama.

Excellent question. I'd bet on electronic, then manual backup firing sequences; if no-go it gets ejected. I'm not sure if the casings/duds are ejected outside the vehicle but I'd think so since I wouldn't want a misfire rolling around behind me. So how do they clear a mis-fire?

Guys, screw the 'ad man' stuff, I'm rolling on the vehicles' features and possible foibles since lethality on the battlefield is why its' here in the first place whether it's a political dog and pony show or what you'll be seeing in your primary sight picture.
