Hello,
I am using this kit as base for a build:
My question is what is this part at its rear end?
Thanks,
Tat

That should be the cover over an electrical socket used to plug in the trailer lights

Jim is correct. Here is a picture showing the electrical cable plugged in.

Like the rear light units, it's a standard fitting seen on a number of WWII American vehicles. it wasn't fitted to the early MBs and GPWs but could be retro-fitted, coming in a kit which included plans to relocate the rear reflectors and the two eye bolts which replaced two of the bolts holding the pintle hook to the frame. These eyebolts were intended to take the two safety chains attached to the trailer.
