Dragon USA has a Daily Deal on their Jagdpanzer IV L70 kit 6623 which brings the price down to about the same as the Tamiya version. Is it worth buying the Dragon one or get the Tamiya???

Well, #6397 would be a better kit, but it sells for around $50 plus shipping on ebay. This kit is a command version representing a very specific vehicle (supposedly) but it is a good price, and I imagine you can probably pass on installing the extra antenna.

I have 9061 myself, which is the Johann Huber tank, but even it was at least $10 more than the one on sale now. I actually bought the Alkett version of the L/70 a couple of days ago during a Triple D; now I have all three major varieties of the panzerjager IV.

That's about the only thing I need, to have just about every major German vehicle.

I ended up buying the Dragon 6623. I like how it comes with the side skirts where as the Tamiya one doesn't. And it comes with magic tracks!

Good choice. It also has finer detail overall than Tamiya. The front outrigger parts that support the forward fenders are molded hollow, for instance--Tamiya's part is a solid block.

The Jagdpanzer IV L/70 Smart Kit was one of the last German armor kits Dragon offered before their commitment to accuracy and fidelity of detail seemingly went down the tubes (their older 9000 series Jagdpanzer kits weren't bad either, but they were based on the older Gunze Sangyo Panzer IV chassis parts from the 1990's).
