Hi all,
I've been trying to find out about the sd.kfz.251/22 Ausf D, in particular if there were any in Normandy? It seems there is very little information on the internet about this variant.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Mike,
I did some looking and found this thread:

Scrolling down you will see that GrossDeustchland was the first to get them in December 44. Too late for anyone to have them at Normandy.
Best Wishes,
Gary

I'm glad I looked at this thread as I was debating getting one of these and planning on building it as an SS one. Having looked at the list that Gary's link takes me to I'd have been wrong. I've saved it for future reference. Thanks Gary.

No problem, Gents!
GrossDeutschland was an elite unit, with many battles on the Eastern Front. As worthy of being modelled as any SS unit. They even had a forearm band denoting their pre-eminence.
Best Wishes,
Gary

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the help! It's much appreciated. It was quite difficult to find anything on the /22 variant but then I guess with comparatively few having been produced and so late in the war it makes sense.
I picked up the old Dragon kit second hand yesterday, mostly because I liked the various extras that come with it,but I'd like to find out about the /22 as it looks so striking.
Thanks again for the info!
