Morning Everyone.
Signed up here few years back when I decided to get back into modeling, then got sidetracked with some family health issues and other Stuff. So for the last couple of year I have only built a couple of old Tamiya small kits out of the box, and some Warhammer 40K pieces.
Enough is enough, so I figured I need to get back into this for real and decided to jump head first into something with some meat to it.
The AEC Mk.II.
Lots of parts, some etch, chance for weathering and some opportunities for some extra detailing, so this should take me out of my comfort zone. Oh yeah, and IMHO it just looks Bad.
I have done a little research but I still have some questions.
If there are answers in the forum that I didn't find, my apologies for repeat questions.
Interior
I have found reference to a metallic aluminum interior and a white interior. Any thoughts of which way to go. I am leaning towards white.
Radio.
I picture or a drawing of the Wiring on and around the radio.
Engine.
Found ref to green engines and black heads, but have also see models with blue or gray engines.
Anyone know of any references that might help.
Also I could only find 1 decent picture of an engine and its only from one side. I would like to add some extra detailing so if anyone can point me to a good reference photo or 2 that would be great.
I was also thinking about break lines and some other plumbing underneath, but that might be over the top. Maybe I should walk before I try to fly.
This is the first modeling forum I have ever been active on, so I am not sure what the consensus is about posting a build of something that has probably made the rounds a couple of time already. Probably more like stumbling but that the heck.
Thanks in advance for any help with my question.

For the interior I'd probably go with white for the time period. Interior colour switched from aluminium to white and back again so you do have some latitude and I don't remember ever seeing definitive dates for the changes.
For the radio wiring, it's probably a 19 set and there is a website for that, although I forget its URL. Still, a search on '19 radio set images' brought up a couple of diagrams.
Can't help on the engine as I leave engine compartments closed but I may have some wiring and cabling info for the braking system. Can't access it now as I'm waiting for a flight at IAD though...

I've got a Mk III on the bench and still searching for more info on the engine. My take is that it should be black. The eau du nil (duck egg blue) is a post war colour and the dark green as found on some Matador's and similar vehicles is a civilian colour. If you google for Matador driver's handbook and download a pdf you'll find some useful stuff in there. It's not 100% the same, but close enough for our purposes. There are some stowage sketches floating around for the Mk II as well.

Sorry for the delay, have really wrapped up at. Sometimes working in IT really cuts into the free time.
Thanks so much, great tip about the search. Lots of pics. I'm sure I can find what I need. If you come up with anything on the cabling I would very interested in checking it out.

Think I will take your suggestion and go will black. They probably got all greased up anyway. Will also check out the matador handbook.
If you start your AEC I would definitely be interested in checking out your build.
Thanks.
