Is it common to keep a "build book" of your work with all the articles you reference, conception drawing, photos of the construction or has the "digital medium" age done away with all that?

i keep something like that but without pictures,i write color mix,material,sizes,some references etc...i have also 1 with the inventory of my Supplies like,colors etc...
