Well think I got the Sherman bug again after going after this M-10,I have bought one more and will get the updated Firefly next week.
I think this one tank can fill a whole collection real fast if you do all the models related to the Hull.
So who is building one?
Plus any good sites on the M4A3E8 thinking of doing one next.
Using the Dragon Korean war kit backdated to late WW2.

Always want to build one, but I am always in the process of building something else.;-) , so the stack of Sherman kits and M10 kits is growing............

Just got a hybrid hull. So may be it is time to do some bashing.

I am just finishing off Italeri´s M4A1 and M32... mostly OOB. They were started along time ago, and I just want them off the workbench. I also have their M7 priest on the workbench, but I want to do some work on this and maybe make it a Britsh desert version.
Funnily enough .... I think there will be a few more in the immediate future to join the collection!

I'm working on a Fujimi M4A1 75mm early in 1/76 scale. Got a fairly decent interior for the scale. The engine looks to be an error, but I will build it with the deck closed. Kind of an aside project for me.

I've also got the ExtraTech 1/72 scale M36 Jackson. Haven't started the kit, but it's sitting next to the Fujimi kit as inspiration to finish that project.

Not at the moment, I just picked up two kits though. The Tamiya M-4a3 105 mm and M-4a3 75 mm. I just started a Academy M-3a1 Stuart, so it will be awhile before I can start one of the Shermans. But I think the 105 is next !

I always seem to have at least one Sherman-family vehicle sitting on the bench.

Right now I have a few in various stages of construction:

1) Formations M4A1 is awaiting markings and final weathering. I want to do it as a vehicle from Sicily or Anzio -- need to hit the library and do a bit more research on the markings. Don't want to mess this gem up.

2) M32 tank recovery vehicle, using parts from the Italeri kit, the Tamiya M4 hull and Academy bogies. Lots to do yet on this. I'm debating over whether or not I want to take one of the Garwood winches from a Dragon Wagon kit to put in the interior ... I'll probably scratchbuild one using the kit winch as a pattern.

3) Tamiya M4 with full engine and interior. 80% done -- I really need to finish this one, too. This one has been a victim of AMS -- I have WAY too much information and keep going back and adding or "correcting" things. When it's all done, you probably won't be able to see 75% of the additions/corrections ....

4) M4A1E8 -- a variant not used in combat in WWII or Korea, but exported all over the world. Using the Dragon M4A3E8 kit with an Italeri M4A1upper hull. Suspension and lower hull complete -- just need to buckle down and finish the rest. Thinking about doing something outrageous for the markings, like Uganda or Pakistan.

5) An early M7 Priest. Though technically based on the M3, I consider the M7 part of the Sherman family of vehicles. Starting with the Italeri kit, and using bogies from the old Tamiya M3 Lee kit, I've backdated this one to be a U.S. vehicle from the Italian campaign. LOTS of work on this one, including a correct rear wall for the fighting compartment, replaced final-drive, transmission and driver position, and shortened "pulpit." It's gonna have those over-sized circled stars seen on some vehicles in Italy.

I need to get a few of these done before I start something else. It's been too cold to shoot paint in my unheated garage, so I may end up painting a bunch at once when Spring finally arrives.

Strangly enough, I've got two going at the moment. One is the 'LuLu' mine roller ' variant' which I've just started the scratching on, and the other is a part of a D-Day 'homage' diorama I'm building for the 60th anniversary that will include a large sized german bunker (the bunker alone measure's approx. 2 feet across!). It will have beach landing wading trunks and a couple of figs.
The reason it's "strange", is because I'm not normally a 'Shermie' fan.

Tread.

I am building a Dragon Sherman IC Hybrid Firefly. I have the factory fresh paint job so if I wanted to do a dio of an brand new tanks off the assembly line I am done!!

I am procrastinating with the weathering because I haven't decided what to do. I'm thinking of having the crew wash the tank so I might have to mask off some wipe streaks before i start weathing to show where to crew already cleaned

Let's see what's on the bench:
M32 tank retriever, on the Tamiya M4 early hull. Scratch interior, scratch boom, HVSS suspension, and oh yeah it's Israeli 1973 with all the mods that means.
M10c 17pdr Achilles about ready for decals; need to decide on tracks.
Firefly Ic with converted Tamiya turret using Rubio barrel and various DML and Accurate Armour stuff. Using the Tamiya M4 Early hull and AFV Club suspension. Will be Fort Garry Horse, spring of '45.
M4A2 welded hoods. Tamiya lower hull, Tank Worksho upper hull, CMD turret, Italeri wading gear, Tank Workshop resin suspension. That one's a pain, lots of cleanup. And I have a Japanese Type 94 tankette kit for the engine deck, like that souvenir photo in Concord's Tank battles of the Pacific War book.

I hope to have a couple of these ready to go later this spring.

I'm not working on one this week, but I've all of the sudden been wanting to work on a Sherman. Almost started a firefly last week, but opted for something modern. Next project will probably either be a sherman or TD in some form.

I'm in process building testor/italeiri's M4A1 in British service. It'll be a vehicle from the 10th Royal Hussars in Italy. Building it for the British/ Commonwealth Group build here. It's one of the rarer tanks used in British Service, so it's a pain to find any reference materials.

I am playing with a Dragon Sherman Firefly Vc (not the latest but one of the original issues that I picked up cheaply), I have got 2 of the latest issue that I am using as pattern to update the original kit.

Is the Italeri suspension in this original issue correct for a Firefly ?

Why are Shermans so addictive, I only bought my first one in November and now I have at least 8 from Academy, Tamiya, Italeri and Dragon, and I still want more, plus I've ordered conversions from Formations and CMD.

Happy modelling

The suspension in the first Firefly kit is not correct for the M4A4 type fireflies so you'll have to change it for one from the new M4A2 kit from Academy which should have the upswepted return roller ..an easy switch ...more shermans to buy!! yes!!

As soon as I finish up a couple of projects, I have three of the Tamiya M4's and all the Academy TD's and will pick a couple of them to start.

Hi,

I'm 'trying' to finish a dozen Sherman's I've.

If you need some references about it you can check the list I'm compiling here Sherman References at AA.

Shermans are the best.I think they are the most interesting in WW2 they have the most adaptable body in that era meanning they converted to anything.I have about 8 un built Shermans from Tamiya and Dragon.
