Has anyone built this fictional turret and if so, how large is it? I cannot seem to find any photos of the actual model on the web. I'm hoping to use it for a 1/35 Sci-Fi vehicle, but am unsure if it would be too large for the roof.

Thanks in advance.

Looks like someone added it to a Fennek here (scroll down): https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/238748&page=1

I'm going to do a sci-fi build of one on a humvee some day.

Hi, Sean (35th Scale) built that Fennek with the RWS from live resin and it one beast of a build and weapon system.

I myself have built the secutor robot which you can view here as part of a build of a Bradley Diorama its towards the end of the log.

And I have the alternative RWS which I am planning to use on a what-if build of a post apoc JERRV.

Here are a few pictures of it primed.

RCWS primed by Manxman, on Flickr

All three RWS sections are the same size it just the mounting bases that vary so hope that give you an idea on the size.

Yep, that's my build

Peter, I can take actual measurements if you need but the Fennek is not a big vehicle and it does not look too large on it.

And here's a picture of Manxman's larger RWS shown above, the one with the hatch in it, dry fitted on the hull of a Trumpeter Italian Puma 4x4 to see how it would look

Also, the sights can be done in the raised or lowered position so you can make it look different. The kit also comes with two different height pedestals to mount it to the roof of the vehicle. I used the lower one on the Fennek

Thanks for the replies!

Sean, yes, if you can take the length, width, and height measurements of the completed RWS, that would be great! My 1/35 Sci-Fi roof is very narrow and from the looks of it, it seems that this RWS might be too large or tall for the vehicle. I might have to resort to CROWS II.

I also spoke with a vendor who said that this RWS was so popular that it sold out fast. Live-Resin has yet to restock him with it (he's been waiting for a long time) so he pulled it off his Live-Resin product list. That could explain why this RWS is so expensive on eBay. Hmmmm...

I've added one to my What if recce S-Tank build:

Note that although the photos and instructions show the front shields and smoke launchers, they do NOT come with the kit. Which was a PITA because those were features I really wanted for my build.

Thanks again for the photos. This RWS might still be a bit too tall for the vehicle I'm planning...

About 7cm long, 5.5cm wide and just a shade over 4cm tall with the optics in the lowered position

Sorry for the delay!

I checked the Secutor dimensions on my CAD model. The situation in the lower position of moving parts, the block-head is raised, the platform of less height. Parameters in 1/1 scale.
Height: 1282 mm
Length:
From the muzzle brake of M3D to astern 2033 mm
From shield to astern 1564 mm
Without the shield, from the front parts to astern 1285 mm
Width:
by the extreme points of the ammo throats M3D and MK47 1641 mm
Robot Secutor is entirely my design development, M3D and MK47 is also modified with design elements. Therefore, you will not find a real photo of RWS Secutor. Only CAD images like these:
matv_secutor_3
matv_secutor_2
matv_secutor_1

I take advantage of this opportunity to ask the question: what about the new versions of the robot Secutor, and what about the models in the scale 1/16? If I create a new design research for such robot, it will be interesting for the modeling community?

No. Please do more real actual modern equipment. Maybe even a DARPA Legged Squad Support System (LS3)?

Thanks, Sean! Unfortunately, too long and wide for my purposes. I'm glad you checked the measurements for me! Thanks again!

I too would prefer real equipment and 1/16 modern soldier figures because they can tell a story by themselves than a fictional robot, meaning I wouldn't know what to use the Secutor for.

While the Secutor may be a great kit, to me it falls into not being too Sci-Fi futuristic in looks in that it has no real time era and no futuristic corresponding figures to match with it. It's too futuristic to be used in Post-Apocalyptic and not futuristic enough to be used in alien Sci-Fi. I would have hoped for Sci-Fi figures that look like the videogames HALO, DESTINY, and MASS EFFECT (head-to-toe hard body armor and full head helmet with Sci-Fi guns) to go with the Secutor, but that's going into Sci-Fi modeling itself.

Making more fictional futuristic robots all depends on the time and era of the robot's technology. If the technology of the robots is too advanced, there may not be any corresponding military figures to match with the robots. And the guns and gear of the figures would have to have some fictional technology to match with the robot.

While I agree it be nice to get more real weapons systems in 1/35 I do like the RWS and secutor and have both. So I wouldn't object to more equally good fictional stuff as well. And if you ever turn the CAD of that MRAP into a model in 1/35 Peter I'd be interested
