Here is the scenerio: I basecoated with Modelmaster Enamels,I will airbrush Testors Laquer Clear Gloss and flat for decals.

After proper curing, would this stand up to Mig and AK filters, washes, and streaking or could it cause damage ?

I usually use acrylics,so I have not encountered this.

thanks for any thoughts

Lacquer will stand up to any other hobby paint/finishing product. Another lacquer might effect it, but you are safe with the products you are talking about.

You should be ok but I would test it first on some scrap or an old kit just to be safe. Nothing worse than having a build ruined in the final stages. Good luck.

Be careful because some of the washes you mentioned are enamel based, to my knowledge. Their solvent might hurt the surface. Make a compatibility test first. If there is a problem an acrylic based clear coat will be needed.

It will be OK unless you either swap the surface with the enamel-based solvents or make several passes with them. Do thinner coats or brush layers, let it dry for a day, and then do more coats if necessary, to be on the safe side.

My experience and what I do: Vallejo satin varnish. It takes full-on abuse from AK, MIG, testors enamels and has never smeared, come off, or bubbled.
