Just thought I would share this little Dio with you all. This is my third model and base. I played with some new techniques and skills on this one. I put the bundle of logs on front and made my first tarp for it. Found a chipping technique that I like. The actual 251 I know is not so accurate but for the price it was a good model to work on. Though the fit seamed looser than I remembered from building one as a kid.
I hope you enjoy and I am always open for suggestions.

Looks great. Did you make the tarp on the back or did it come with the kit? I love these old Tamiya kits. They are cheap and fun to experiment on. Keep up the great work.

One of my very first kits. Many, many moons ago....
The black lining is a tad on the heavy side, but the painting is well done. Especially the figures.

I always liked the dynamic poses of that figure set. Wish someone would do a 21st century rendition. Nice scene. Hard to believe it's your third venture.

Robert,

That ol' boy looks great! I like what you wrote about the seams being looser than remembered. I have found that, too.

Your groundwork is great. Top-notch composition and positioning. I think you did a wonderful job with the SPW and figures, too, esp. the shading and highlights. Thanks for the memories of this kit!

Well done! The groundwork looks good & the figures are well placed to give the scene a sense of motion.
