Hi Everyone,
I've just completed my first tank since 1984. I've learned a lot, and had some fun.
A neat surprise was finding a two decals for the fire extinguisher. The decal sheet, printed by Cartograph also has 14 crosses just in case you mess one up.
My goal was to depict a Tiger of S. PzAbt 506 in the Ukraine in the spring of 44'. As my first tank in years I wasn't overly concerned about depicting a certain tank or crew, but getting back into armor modelling with my favorite tank. Now that I've finished, I can reflect on things I'll do differently on my next tank.
If you want to see real pictures of S. PzAbt 506, you can go to S.PzAbt 506 Gallery at Tiger im Focus.
Thanks for looking!
Gary

Very nice!! I really like how you've got the suspension trailing on uneven ground. The decals seem a bit "bright" compared to the dusty look on the rest of the tank. I also like the colors for the camo.

Gary- Nice Tiger. I really like the understated cammo and restrained weathering.

Hi Jack,
Thank you very much for your kind words. The kit itself and the Friul tracks made making the suspension 'alive' really easy. The Friuls are so heavy that they mold themselves to any curve.
You caught me out with the decals. I should have put them on before I did the washes and filters.
Hi Armorsmith,
Thank you very much. I'm still very new to serious weathering. I've got a little more practice with aircraft.
Best Wishes,
Gary

Alvaro,
Thank you very much! The kit comes with one figure that has an ugly head. I used his torso, legs, and left arm. For his head, right arm, and the other two crewman I used Tamiya Military Miniatures 201 German Panzer Crew at Rest.
Dustin,
Thank you very much. My next build will be a B-29 over at Aeroscale. When I return to armor it will either be Dragon's DAK Pzkw IIIG, or Marder III H. I just bought them both this weekend. They both have a zillion parts!
Best Wishes,
Gary

Very nice looking Tiger.
The wire ropes look a little on the stiff side..
I cannot see clearly if the machine gun port at the front is missing the barel...
