Matt,
It should be possible with some reservations. At low pressure you will get more liquid than particles but this will slow down the drying time and the opposite is true at high pressure you get the particles that you want but the liquid part will evaporate faster. The best effect is masking and spraying directly.

Matt,
The key is time the suspended particles settling. If you want to use a brush, you will have to do it in layers allowing drying between layers.
