I have three in my stash, and one of them is going to be next on the workbench. But I'm having a hard time deciding which one it will be, and I'm asking for some thoughts and encouragement. That said, should it be:
a) The Whippet?
b) The A7V?
c) The Cougar?
Or should I throw everything else in a corner and just build all three?

oooo, that's a tough question. They are all nice kits and go together nicely. I say the Whippet. I haven't seen many of these built yet.

Cougar.. but I'm partial to modern stuff.. of course you could do like you said.. and like I do, and have three parallel builds going on

My vote is for the Whippet. The SWAMPS Chapter is going to do this as a group build. Me being the newest member I want to show up a really nice Whippet. So Bill, I'd really like you to be my tutor on this one. A selfish reason behind my vote.
But what ever you build Bill have fun doing it !

Cougar is inaccurate, Whippet doesn't have all the options (boxes omitted), go for the A7V.

Christophe,
While the boxes would have been nice to have, they certainly are not mandatory there are many photos of Whippets with out the boxes.

Panzershop just released a cheap set including these boxes (which weren't on all Whippets, anyway

Inaccuracies notwithstanding... you guys are missing the point, which is that he already has these kits.. he's not asking which to buy... So, they will all get built eventually anyway

Here is the box/stowage set. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mark-A-Mk-A-Whippet-detail-resin-set-1-35-PanzerShop-MENG-PS35261-/172110831091?hash=item28129addf3:g:3QgAAOSwFNZWyvWA
The nice thing is you can build the rest of the model while waiting for these to be delivered.

I thought he might want to build the best one first, out of the box. :-)
He can get the Panzershop boxes later or sratchbuild them (Whippet) and do mega surgery when he has more time (Cougar).

Christophe

I guess you have a point there, Christophe.. but a far as the Cougar goes, I think you would have to be really good at scratch building to fix the error in the length of the vehicle.. I think it's one of those kits that you just have to accept as is
Out of curiosity.. has anyone seen a MENG Cougar with the error fixed? It would be interesting to see how

I would suggest the A7V, it looks like one of their best kits with full interior (except for the engine which can't be seen) and other stuff.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. i've decided on the Whippet. its opened with a little bit of the hull done, and most of the tracks de-sprued. i realized every single Meng tank kit has individual link tracks; not sure if any other manufacturer can say that. I'll report back with some progress, and again, thanks to everyone for the feedback.

As some others have suggested, A7V.
A very enjoyable build, IMHO, and an impressive looking vehicle.

I've built the Whippet and it's a great little kit! That'd be my vote. Can't go wrong with any of the three though!!

Erik: So far so good. in just one day off and on, i've de-sprued all the tracks (which really fit together well) and assembled pretty much the entire hull. i have the sponsons left to build, and they don't look hard. What impresses me is how strong the basic hull/box is. When i built the D9R i was impressed the same way by the fit, engineering and strength.

Actually, their mineroller Merkava and Acharizit did come supplied with belt tracks.
