I have an old out-of-print magazine article with a rather frank review about it. I have one that I used to practice building a Tiger before I do my Tamiya Africa version. It does look like a Tiger when completed, but is not as nice as the Tamiya kit.

Hi Leopold, I'm building the Italeri Tiger at the moment. No problems except for slightly odd fit of the hull parts. Nothing that can't be fixed - just check that everything lines up and fits before you reach for the glue. It's my first encounter with individual link tracks and they're a lot of work but will look good when finished. It looks to be accurate enough and it's cheap, which is why I bought it as I needed a bit of practice.

I have Italeri´s bergetiger on the workbench at the moment. Ive never built a tiger before and thought this would be a good starting point. It has indy tracks and zimmerit panels included. I bought Tamiya etched grill frames set and thats all I will add apart from some simple additions to the winch. Im quite happy with it. I dont really have any great knowledge or reference on the tiger, but I think this is a fine kit. If nothing else it will be good practice and it was less than half price of the the Academy and Tamiya variants.

With just the addition of a crew, the basic kit was good enough to win a prize at a local competition. People only reckon it's bad because they compare it with the latest tamiya!

I have the Tiger I with the zimmerite plates. I have had no real problems with it, and It will look like a Tiger when it is done. I built the "Tunisian" Tiger version before, and again, no problems. I do not measure my kits, so I cannot say that the Italeri kits are good or bad. They look fine.
