I'm painting up an Abrams platoon for a client. Scale is 15mm (1/100th). Time period is mid 1980s but I really don't fancy doing the MERDC scheme. Is FS 34094 the correct shade?

Thanks!

Oh, another thing, base FS color for AH-1 Cobra (same period)?

Playing Team Yankee? So am I, the Winter Verdant MERDEC Scheme used on M1s in 7th Army would be the following.

45% Forest Green FS34079
45% Field Drab FS30118
5% Sand FS30277
5% Black FS37038

I have no references for Helicopters FS#

Overall green M1s were forest green FS34079.

34094 (NATO green) was not introduced yet at that time.

The Forest Green color is close to the Dark Green used by the RAF in WW2 for their Battle of Britain scheme.

Tamiya XF81 Dark Green 2 or XF61 Dark Green straight for unfaded color or mixed with XF65 Field Gray for a lightly faded finish or XF65 Field Gray straight for strongly faded

Vallejo Model Air 71020

For the helicopter FS 34031 Testors Model Master 2024 Helicopter Green

Nope, good catch though! I've got a platoon of T-62s and a platoon of M1s to paint up along with a Hind and a Cobra. The customer isn't too bothereed about the scheme althogh I had the MERDEC planned out and showed them how it looked on an M113 I did years ago...

Thanks for the replies all of you!!!
