Hye everyone !

Didn't someone just talk about colourfull armor ?
Well, I'm going for a softskin, but a PINK one ! #:-)
I've had the Tamiya model waiting on the shelf for some time and I just got the Eduard PE for it.
So is there anything to know about this model ?
And do you know where on the web I could find info about that particular kind of landrover ?
I think the colour was a sunbleached sand colour that would that way turn "naturaly" pink. But am I wrong ? Was the colour overall pink, or was it more sand in some places ?

cheers !

Astonishing...love that Brit humor; the picture of the Pink Panther LR in the cage ready to be "dropped from a perfectly servicable Hercules from a totally irresponsible height"!

It was pink!

The colour was after considerable testing deemed the one which gave the most concealment in the desert. No sand colour was ever applied. Under a net it could not be seen.

Ours had the standard equipment. 2 x 7.62mm GPMG mounted front and rear, rifle holsters on each front wing, smoke dischargers mounted front and rear on the bumpers, sun compass mounted in the back and usually we carried at least 4 sand channels.

Don't forget the front mounted winch and the water jerrycans on the front bumper, they were missed on the Tamiya kit when it first came out.

Thanks for the Link again Eagle, you're doing your homework! I'd have to agree with you about the PINK thing. Great info there though.

But I feel compelled to at least make this statement......It must have taken some friggin' immense heuvo's to drive that thing into combat! Damn good thing there was no such thing as 'Mary Kay' back then! #:-) #:-) #:-)

Tread.
