Here is my BTR-80A build. This is the Trumpeter BTR-80 with Armory BTR80A resin turret conversion and KI-126 wheels.
My first real conversion, I opted (once again) for a single colour scheme to highlight the turret differences when the finished build was placed next to the older BTR-80. Vallejo Russian Green was used, applied by airbrush. A lighter cloud pattern was dusted across the middle of panels to break up the single colour.
Weathering was undertaken with Mig products and oil paints. I thin oil paints and weathering washes with lighter fluid ensuring a dead flat finish. Chipping was added where appropriate with a paler shade of the base colour.
Vallejo water effects created the muddy and wet area around the culvert drain.

You've done an excellent job. Still haven't finished mine. I plan on getting Ace's version to compare it to the Trump version.

There's that sabredog work that we all enjoy seeing again! Bravo! Thanks for posting and you've got quite a bit to make up for (in the posting deparment) but please keep them coming.
Here's mine, in the process of an extended overhaul. Hope it turns out as impressive as the above and with a base equally nice.
Cheers,
Jan

Compared to the original BTR-80, the new resin tyres make the older kit tyres look positively anemic.

The Trumpeter kit tires were a pain to even get them to sit correctly on the rims. Aftermarket stuff in my area is as rare as hen's teeth and after a couple of bad experiences, I don't trust mail order. It's basically make do with what you get in the kit, which sometimes with a bit of scratch building/modification can turn out acceptable.

Jan

I got mine from Armory direct. They were really great to deal with, though you had to be patient.
