Looks really good. I have that in my stash to build as well. Did the Tiger Model go together well? How was the build itself?

The build was trouble free, no putty was used. The detail all around is good, the fit is great (although don't expect the latest Tamiya standards...).
I've noted a couple of mismatch in the instruction booklet, but nothing serious. As a matter of fact, the instructions are quiet good, especially for a Chinese manufacturer.
My only real complains are the rather thick slat armor and the solid mud guards, but that's nothing some scratch building (or after market PE) can not cure (I was too lazy, I wanted a quick build, so mine is 100% OOB).
The kit provides no less than three (!) different color options for the transparent parts (plain, purple and turquoise) - a complete overkill to my taste.
You'll find parts enough for two full "droids" - make sure you use the bigger one, indicated in the instructions.
Bottom line - highly recommended !

Interesting but ugly vehicle. As I am a relative newcomer to modern armor what is the purpose of this vehicle, recon, C3? Thanks.

It's a IFV optimized for urban warfare and counter insurgency (not recon - it's way too high for that) based on the Sho't Kal.

Custom mixed Tamiya acrylics. The recommended mixture is 2 parts of XF20 to 1 part of XF49.I did not have XF20 on hand, so I used some other grey instead (can't remember which one). For the highlights I gradually added white to the base color. It's hard to see on the pictures, but I've applied at least 4 different shades on the vehicle.
According to my personal experience with IDF heavy metal, the recommended Tamiya mixture ratio is a very close match for current AFV's. Having said that, you can't really go wrong with any color that looks OK to you..IDF AFV's have the tendency to look completely different in varying light conditions.

Very detailed work and fantastic paint and weathering. A perfect combination, Nice build.

This is a great thing to see first thing in the morning. I hope to start painting mine next week. Great job. I actually assembled my droid before I realized there were 2 in the kit. Now I have to see how much difference in size there is in the two droids. You did a great job and I hope mine looks as good.

Guys, thanks for your kind words. Tiger Model has really raised the bar with this one, I'm looking forward to build another one of their kits.
Important for those who's in a process of building this kit (or plans to build it) : the number on the mud guard (813783) does not correspond to the license plate (818783). Spotted (too late, after application) by wife...does not really bother me, left it like that.

Very realistic rendering of grimy dust and wear. Are the tracks one piece vinyl or single links?

The tracks are (unfortunately) single, non workable links...I can never get them behave...
I wasn't aware of the existence of AFV's "Hush Puppy" set at the time of the build. Shame, as it would've made the project a lot easier.

On my Achzarit, I used an IDF Sand Gray from a small Slovakian manufacturer called MR Paint which comes pre-thinned and sprays pretty much like Tamiya and Mr Color paints... I wonder if it's close enough, or should I use the Tamiya mix?

Wow, great job!!! No, there's no need using the Tamiya mix, that looks very realistic!
As I mentioned at the beginning of this thread, you shouldn't be worry about the exact color of modern IDF AFV's, as this issue is just as much a matter of debate than the correct US OD color...
By the way, to my honest opinion, your "Achzarit" is actually more correct color vise than my "Nagmachon'...I went for a more sun faded look, which is actually - while looking a lot cooler - less realistic.

The company is called MR Paint .. I guess a la Mr Color.. they come in glass bottles and pre-thinned.. and if they need more thinning, they can be thinned with Mr Color leveling thinner... I sprayed it over a black primer to give it a kind of a natural shade.
