Which countries used the Chieftain? I would like to do a Middle East diorama did any countries in the Middle East use them.

Iran, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait and Iraq,around 50 tanks captured from Iran.

I believe only Iran and Jordan still operate Chieftains these days.

You won't be able to do a Jordanian tank,they are in fact Khalids they have a completely different engine deck.Use the Mk 5 for the others.

Don't they have a different running gear too (the same as Challenger 1) ?

No but the rear end does look like a Challenger although it isnt the same
