I'm planning on picking this guy up in a few days, and am wondering if anyones built it, and what they think about it (ease of build, details etc...).

Also what type of tracks does it come with, rubberband or link and length?

Thanks.

Hi Had the pleasure of building this kit last summer and I really liked it. Built mine basically OOTB with just the addition of some tissue tarps hanging on the back of the turret. Have heard pros and cons about the accuracy of certain areas on this kit, but to me it was plenty nice as it is. Really liked it. The tracks are the rubber band type but they look pretty good and took paint okay with no problem Brush-painted mine with Polly S paints and some light oil washes and drybrushings. Looks good, for me.

Take care, Sgirty

Hi,

I picked up one of these on ebay recently haven't built it yet, but it looks great in the box, it has rubber band tracks, lots of fine moulded details, also includes a trio of figures but they'll need more realistic heads if you choose to use them.

Happy modelling

I liked building the one that I had. The fit was good, I think that you will enjoy it.

youl have to add straps to the Gerry cans. That seemed to be the only problem. Lots of extras in the kit as well,Shell boxes, 30 and 50 cal. MG's. and I think figs came with it as well. The road whell housings are a bit fiddely though, as is the muzzel brake construction.

I'm building this thing right now! It's a heck of a cool kit, with nifty extras like crew figures and lots of external stowage and spare parts - but the fit in some areas, especially the turret halves (nothing some clamping and sanding can't fix!) and canvas gun cover (have some epoxy putty handy to reshape the bottom half of it, it's too short!), could be better. It's pretty good value for money, and from what I hear hands-down the best M51 out there.

I just picked one up myself and am very excited about building it. I picked up the Academy kit I'ive found the Academy kits to be excellent and a good build.
