Hi guys,

I’m having a bash at fixing the undersized mantlet and gun mounting on Zvezda’s Panther D. Would someone be able to point me in the direction of some references for the turret roof and gun mounting / mantlet?

Hello,

I f you can still find it...I recommend Schiffer's The Speilberger German Armor & Military Vehicles Series: Volume 1
Panther & Its Variants.

Great book. Full of excellent info and pictures and line drawings!

Good Luck!

"Panther: The Quest forCombat Supremacy" by Tom Jentz, is a better reference than Spielberger's older volume. Has 1/35th scale drawings. Jentz also did a dedicated volume on the Ausf. D in his Panzer Tracts series. Both books feature drawings by Hilary Louis Doyle.

As Gerald says, get the Panzer Tracts book on the D. It's the most recent and based on primary sources.
