I ordered Komplekt Zip Su-76i conversion kit and now I'm looking for suitable base kit, any suggestions? These tanks were converted from panzer III J and H if I'm not mistaken?

Isn't Dragon planning on releasing one. I'm pretty sure I saw it listed on dragonusaonline

IIRC most SU-76Is were converted from Panzer IIIs captured at Stalingrad, so any Panzer III kit from Ausf F onwards could be used.

The pics I've seen seem to show the integral towing eyes and elongated overhang which would indicate a Pz.III Ausf.J or later hull.

I got Dragon 6606 in my stash, it's N with winterketten. Maybe bit too late variant for this project but could it be usable with som work, atleast I wouldn't have to buy new kit?

Ausf.Ns were converted from Js, Ls and Ms. DML 6606 gives you a hull with the side escape hatches, which makes it a J or an early L, so it would work as the basis for an SU-76i

Well, as it happens I got Dragon kit Seems like a nice piece if not counting DS tracks, and to my surprise barrel is made from two halves. At least there's some etch bits for grilles and such.
