Hello, i wounder if someone can tell about how Y-modelle kits are and the quality on the resin castings are? I'm intreasted in the leopard 2a7 2015 version.. Is the turret in that kit complete, or do you need the bottum plate for the resin part?
Thanks in advance

The resin castings are very good in my opinion.

I've done two reviews of Y-Modelle conversions...

One thing to bear in mind with Y-Modelle conversions that has been mentioned several times in reviews and posts is that some of the conversions were mastered for industrial display or presentation models. They were not mastered with accuracy focused modellers in mind. Y-Modelle does for sure get insider information from KMW and other defence companies as far as details for the conversions. They have done a good job with the conversions they have produced thus far.

The new Leopard 1A7+ conversion looks great. I say go for it. But, I wonder how much of a difference it will be compared to the new Meng Leopard 2A7 kit. If you add the FLW200 to the Meng kit you might have the same result as the Y-Modelle conversion.

I have their sets for the Mercedes Wolf and Unimog Gun Truck.

Happy with the quality.

Cheers,

Christophe

Jason i was thinking of this set,

I dont think the turret is the same on mengs new kit? But i was thinking of using the meng kit as a base as i dont like the old hobby boss leopards so much.. And use the live resin Flw200 also...

If you use the Meng kit and the Live Resin FLW200 then you won't need the Y-Modelle conversion at all.

Is the Leopard 2A7 with FLW200 just a trial version or are all 20 of the German Army Leopard 2A7s modified to accept the FLW200?
