The wearing of T-shirts is a fairly modern piece of dress and you'd be far more likely to see any German without his tunic and issue shirt wearing a vest or undershirt. Probably what you would know as a singlet for the vest. Undershirt as shown.
Again multi colours in underwear is a fairly new "fashion", white would have been the most probably colour in the 1940's etc.

Light GRAY or Light FELDGRAU. These were also made in "REED GREEN", and in the AFRIKAKORPS, Light KHAKI-OLIVE and/or KHAKI... Many Luftwaffe Service Shirts were made in a Light GRAY-ISH BLUE...
