Hello guys . Here is my problem i ve got the Revell 1/35 JagdPanther (late version) and i plan to use it in a dio. but there is another (secret for the moment) vehicle that was supposed to appear in two occasions . In operation "Zitadel" 1943 and in Kursk . So my question is did the Jagdpanther existed in either occasion of the two so i can match the historical accuracy with the modelling project . I have under planning a really big dio , with over 5 vehicles and more than 20 figures. But though searching a lil i couldnt figure out. If anyone can please do . Thanks a lot .

My refs say that production of the JagdPanther didn't begin until January 1944. That would put the first engagements on the Eastern Front later that spring in Byelorussia and the Ukraine.

Thanks for posting that list :-)

There were still no Jadgpanthers at Kursk.

Perhaps you were thinking of the Nashorn or Elephant?

The Jadgpanther was a variant ot the Panther G. My sources indicate that both vehicles were produced simultaneously starting in January 1944 and the first G's built by MAN being delivered in March '44, with the Jagdpanthers presumably shortly after. It would be impossible for either vehicle to have existed in mid-1943 during Zitadel (or Kursk).

Katyusha,

no disrespect, but it seems you have confused the German terms Jagdpanzer and Jagdpanther.

The first is a class of vehicles (Tank Destroyers, abbreviated as Pz. Jg. in German), and the second the name of a vehicle (which simultanously indicates the tankchassis it is derived from).
