According to TM 9-767 (you can find it here) :
"The crane and hoist assembly is stowed on the lower decking of the semitrailer in a knocked-down condition and consists of four components which are crane I-beam, trolley hoist, crane vertical strut and tire tongs."

Thanks for the pictures, you two have made my day. Michael for the pictures and Henri-Pierre for the link to the TM. The Dragon Wagon has been one of my favorites.

You're welcome. I've been thinking of doing the soft cab for sometime now and thought perhaps others might appreciate the reference as well.

Happy Modeling!

Anyone know the owner of this great soft cab M26? I would like to give him proper credit. He also exhibited this vehicle at last years MVPA in Louisville.

Some alternate locations in which to pose the jib crane:

There are a total of four mounting stations for the jib crane on the DW trailer in order to access each tire assembly.

Alternate mounting location for the Whiffletree towing fixture. Might add a little more visual interest to any Dragon Wagon model.

Front axle spring mounting nuts totally left off the Tamiya kit.

I consider these details, while located under the forward chassis, to still be very visible on any front view of the M26

A follow up on the remark that the large axle mounting bolts are missing from the Tamiya Dragon Wagon offering.

Here is my DW with bolts added:
