Hi
I found some roots and asparagus fern near home, and I want to know if they can be preserved in vaseline or another way?
TIA

The best preservative would be glycerin.
Just go to YouTube and type in "perserving with glycerin"
and there are many video how to's.
You can also use hairspray and acrylic varnishes but may not
be as effective.
Cheers,
Joe

Soaking in glycerine will keep them fresh-looking and soft. However, if you want to dry them (like dried flowers) cover them with silicon sand and micro wave for a couple of minutes. Silicon sand is expensive so you could try rice. I've heard of people drying out their electronics by covering with rice.

Any herb should be consumed while still fresh. Dried herb will have an acrid flavor...
Oh wait, wrong forum...

So that's why my dried "herb" tastes so bad (cough, cough).

first you have to dry them do it in a dry dark palce upside down if you want try to keep the original color and shape, for the roots in not a big deal dark and dry place is enough but for green stuff need more work to keep colors, the rice work like the little bags of silica you find in the box when you buy electronic stuff, absorb the umidity that's it

when is dray the hairspray help to keep the shape and protect them, but after when you use on your Dio if you keep them at sun light the colors slowly change.
