Hello team, quick question about Kharkov Panzer IV's. I've seen photos with either an extremely good application of white wash or an overall white paint. Where they actually painted white or was it newly applied, with strong attention to detail, whitewash only? Thank you in advance for all your help.

I've never heard of them painted white at the factory. In the field they would have been painted with whatever the crew could get hold of. Paint, whitewash, sheets, chalk, and snow have all been documented.
A lack of wear on the edges would signify paint....or just recently applied whitewash. Some tanks in winter conditions had nice, complete coats of white while others didn't. There's no real wrong answer.
Best wishes,
Gaz
