Hey Guys!

I posted this in the Figure forum also, but I could use a little broader feedback so I decided to post here also!

He will be one of 3 GI's figure set having some chow!! Let me know what you think, and also, is this something that you would concider buying?

Here is the mannequinn

And some work done on the pants

The torso/ M43 jacket is taking shape, this picture shows the putty wet and you can see the tool marks. Used a shaped wood piece to form the folds then smoothed them out with a wet brush.

Here is the torso attached to the body and the head temporarily attached.

A close up on the face

Hi AndersHeintz, Now this is what I call scratchbuilding!
This is amazing, can you tell us how long it will take to sculpt a figure like this?
Keep the pics coming,

Again, a very nice job, John.

Very interesting. I want to try this myself, but need an idea of what to use for putty and tools.
Exactly how do you make everything to scale?
Also, who is that guy, Telly Savalas?

Hey Guys!

You should definately try it! It is a lot of fun doing. You don't need a whole lot of tools, mainly you need putty (I would reccomend Magic Sculpt or Milliput yellow gray kind), and a few tools like a larger soft round brush, a small fine tipped brush, some tooth pics to shape folds with and an XActo knife. That is about all that I use. As for how to meassure scale, I use a 1/35th scale template of a man that I compare everything too, but also to other figures to make sure scale is good.

As for the time, I would say maybe 12 + hours or so of effective sculpting time (not including drying time) for a full figure, I would say probably take a little longer though.

Thanks for the comments

I like the pose a lot. The scarf is a nice touch and melds the head into the body well.

Two things that I 'see' right now. The first I think is just because the arms aren't on yet. The shoulders seem a bit narrow for the waist. I think that will be adjusted (visually) when the arms are included.
The profile photos make his head seem a bit small forehead to back of head. Not sure if its the photo or me? Just what I see.

And Yes I would buy the product.

Hey Anders,

This guy looks like Telly Savalas when he starred in the Dirty Dozen. Great job so far.

Hey Guys!

Thanks for the comments

Scott, yeah, the shoulders are narrow, and they will be fixed once the arms are done, hopefully later today Im not sure about the head though, but you might be right.

He does kinda look like that guy from the Dirty Dussin, kind of funny as I didnt mean for it to
