At first I thought the second one was a different model (different headlights mounts) but maybe it's just a variant...

Toyota BMs were supplied to both the S. Korean and S. Vietnamese armies as they were seen as easier to maintain and a more local (closeness to Japan) vehicle for them than US CCKWs and M35 trucks. It was also a way to further the reconstruction of Japan after WWII by providing a market for their vehicles.
