But the flaps of those pockets don't have uncovered buttons, do they?
I think the problem here is that because of the source image being mistaken for an American, some fundamental mistakes have cropped into the figure.
the ammo pouch his hand is resting on is on the photo part of the webbing kit of the Aussie. Here it's kind of dangling as a seperate bag.
The US, at no point, used trousers with patch cargo pocket on both legs with a single button. The original trousers of the specifically designed jungle fatigues had two exposed buttons not one, and these were quickly removed form the second version.
It's kind of an "almost there" figure. Some simple conversion work would make it more accurate, although I understand some people aren't as fussed about that.
