Hi, This is just the start!!!!! All you railway fans, or just fans of wanting to own the biggest kit ever made in 1/35 scale, had better start saving those nickels, dimes, and quaters now, for sure as the world, one of these day in the next couple of years, or less, I'd bet my bottom dollar that we're going to see one of the "babys" come out in /135. This is just too much of a temptation for one of the manufacturers to pass up if they think they can make a buck or two off of it. So we'd best be getting ready for it now!

Take care, Sgirty

".....if they think they can make a buck or two at it...."

sgirty! The 1/87th scale 'Dora' is already almost $700. sheckles! Now, I've already proven myself a 'big spender' when it comes to models, but if the 1/87th scale is $700. dollars, that means the 1/35th scale kit will well exceed 1400.00 dollars !!
I don't know about you my friend, but trying to slip a fourteen hundred model kit purchase past my wife would be like trying to slip 'Hooter's' waitress's into my modeling Den!
My best wishes to you though! :-) :-)

Tread.

But hey, sgirty......after all is said and done,I'd LOVE to see one on the shelf!!!!

Hi, You're right Treadhead. This model most definitely ain't going to be cheap, by any means, compared to what we're used to buying. But I do see on the Mission Models ad that they have already marked it down to $389. So that's quite a chop to the regular price right off the bat.

And if the model makers figure that they are going to have to charge around $1400 or so for a kit of this thing in 1/35 scale, we'll never see it come to pass I'm afraid. Because they know they aren't going to sell enough of them to make up their costs to produce it.

So if one does come out in the distant future the price is going to have to be keep really low, comparitively speaking, in order to sell enough of them to make it worth while. Or not.

I was talking to the one of the guys at my local hobby shop last Saturday and he was telling me that a lot of model railroaders don't consider the price of something if they want it bad enough for their hobby. So that's not good.

Hummmm....do you think we could get our doctors to write out a prescription for a "Hooters'' waitress? "But honey, I gotta do it, it's the doctor's orders!" Ha, ha!

Take care, Sgirty #:-)

Howdy sgirty,

Hey....I'm on your side! I would LOVE to see a 1/35th scale Dora show up on the rack at my LHS! And, as you so accurately pointed out. The Dora kit over at Mission Models has already been marked down almost half! Hey, if the model kit manufacturer's could box up a kit of the Dora, and price it any which way at half of $1400., at say, $700. dollars.......I'd drop the sheckles for it sgirty!

Tread.

But....come to think of it. If the Leopold was what.....700 or 800 pieces, can you imagine how many would be in the Dora?
