I thought some of you might be interested in our national flag selections. If this was the World Cup results the US would be doing well indeed. Keep in mind we have 400 plus users that have NOT selected their countries flag and 50 or so that selected none (U.N. workers?).
Here are the current standings:
11 australia
2 austria
5 belgium
16 brazil
24 canada
1 chile
1 croatia
2 finland
3 france
4 germany
2 greece
3 hong_kong
2 hungary
2 indonesia
1 ireland
5 israel
4 malaysia
2 mexico
21 netherlands
5 new_zealand
52 none
2 norway
1 philippines
4 poland
1 portugal
1 romania
1 russian_federation
6 scotland
1 seychelles
3 singapore
4 south_africa
3 spain
6 sweden
1 switzerland
2 turkey
1 ukraine
23 united_kingdom
173 united_states
3 wales
Looks like the UK is a solid #2 (if you add Wales and Scottland to the regular UK tally), and Canada and the Netherlands are battling for 3rd! hehe

Hi,
I'm one of the only representative.
But if we joined the portuguese speakers it's 16+1 so not bad in the ranking.

Captain Jack..... :-) What a guy!
That reminds me, where's he been lately? Haven't seen him post too much lately. He's probably letting real life interfere with modelbuilding time... like me!
It's quite nice to know we have a global community here on ArmoramA! :-)

Thanks for the info Jim, as usual you are always there with the goods!
Question though, if I may. Your tally (and comment) shows both Canada and the Netherlands vying for third. My question is this; Why are the Netherlands ranked so high in the modeling community in general? I have observed several model shows both on the web and in magazines and the Netherlands almost always feature prominently. Not only that, but their models are absolutely stunning! Seriously, there is a very talented group of people in that part of the world. Some of the dio's I've seen are magnificant....great stuff indeed.
Sorry.......just curious.

It seems that I would be the only Mick in this joint. ''Armorama the melting pot of creativity.'' I like the sound of that.

Hi,
I'm not alone any more, I've two portuguese mates. Where are you ?
And portuguese speakers have doubled, now we are 34 (31 + 3).
PS - We loose the Seychelles but we won Kiribati (Captain Jack).

Jack is in and out, up and down. Like a Jack in the box. Somedays are good others, not so good. I moved from Seychelles to Kiribati (in my head) Why? Because they are the coolest flags, and I'm in a learning curve. I feel a member of the world community t large, and like to move around, even if it's only mentally. Besides the Luxembourgish flag is pretty boring. But then again it is unique, so maybe, I'll just pass some time wearing those colours in the future, or perhaps given the situation, I might well end up in Kiribati. Now where the heck is that atlas? And where exactly is Kiribati, and why is there no flag for Antartica. Greenland while belonging to Denmark, is still a complete and separate entity. Although I don't know if there are any modelers there.

Hey Jack--The Republic of Kiribati is made up of a number of small islands and is situated along the Equator half way between Hawaii and Australia, pretty well right on the International Date Line. I know about it because my dad goes bonefishing on one of the islands (Christmas Island) often. Kiribati is actually pronounced keer-i-bas, Christmas Island (which is actually due south of Hawaii) being spelt Kiritimati. They use Australian currency. I haven't seen the flag before, though, Jack, thanks.
