A friend had me stop by his house tonight and gave me an unbuilt kit he found in his late brother's basement. It is a Peerless Max Dragon Wagon and trailer; the electric motor is installed in the chassis but the kit is otherwise mint, sprues bagged, et al; the box is in good condition too. I never knew anyone besides Tamiya made a 1/35 Dragon Wagon. I'm guessing the kit comes from early/middle seventies. I know there are people on the board who know of or maybe even built this kit; any information would be much appreciated. I now own both the Max and Tamiya DW kits; I'm guessing that's a pretty rare feat!

I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember the Peerless kit being the basis for the IDF transporter Shep Paine used in his M51 dio, in the "How to" diorama book.

Congrats on your find Bill. I haven't come across any build reviews, but maybe this can help you with bits of info, contacts, etc: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/185114-peerless-max-no-1-dragon-wagon-m26 . Cheers, Tat

Too bad it's been started. It seems to be a fair collectible. One just sold on Ebay for $195.

I built one looooong ago.

It's appalling.

Nothing like the nice Peerless kits of the Chev FAT or Bedford of the same period. The M26 kit is a toy through and through.

Don't waste your time

Seriously, it's bloody awful.

Paul: I hear your pain. I have no plans to build this. Ever. I might display the two boxes with each other. That's as far as it goes. I can hear your pain in your post!!
