Stalingrad continues to set the bar for excellence, imagination, and (most importantly) usefulness in figures.

Another superb series of figures!
Their painter must be an artist. Just wondering if I can find somewhere something about his techniques. Never too late to learn.....

These figures are sculpted and painted by the same guy... Alexander Zelenkov, the owner of Stalingrad company.

Thanks, Mario,

Does Mr. Zelenov show somewhere about his techniques? He has an inspiring way of bringing his figures into life!

Not that I know of. He's reluctant to show any in-progress photos of his sculpts, and I haven't ever seen the painting process.

Hi guys!
I use Vallejo Acrylic for faces and leather details and polyvinilacetate tempera (made in Russia, but you can use just a acrylic) for clothing. Work with tempera and acrylic is just so common that I can't say anything more at thousandths words that have said about it.
In fact I rate my painting job very modest. May be I can make in sculpt anything interesting, but not in painting. Look here and you can see REALLY good painting: http://www.puttyandpaint.com/
Some good painting VIP you can see on Planet figure: http://www.planetfigure.com/
And very many interesting and useful articles about painting you can find in this magazine. Highly recommended. http://www.mrblackpublications.com/
Good buy!

These new figs really set the bar higher for all the resin sculptors!! I already have the eastern front refugee set and now need to buy this new one and also the set just released a few months ago with more German refugees. I like to modify my own plastic figs but sometimes I get lazy and let Alex do all the hard work! LoL

Alexander, your figures are among the best available. You are one of the few sculptors that gets the anatomical proportions correct, especially from the waist down. Excellent work!
