Hi,
Well, the thread topic pretty much says it all: does anyone know of reasonably affordable BMP-2 gun barrel sets in 1:35 scale?
I'm currently building the Trumpeter kit and been thinking of replacing the somewhat clunky turret autocannon and machine gun barrels with something better. Problem is, there doesn't seem to be a simple one-stop solution for upgrading the barrels. Or at least I haven't managed to find one yet...
What I've found so far is several manufacturers having 2A42 autocannon barrels and PKT MG barrels, but with no sets conviniently combining both.
RB Model has both the autocannon and the coaxial MG, but the latter is only included in their BMP-3 barrel (and they don't do custom "mix & match" orders - I've asked). Miniarm has a more comprehensive (and pricier) turret upgrade set, but which for some reason doesn't seem to appear to include the PKT barrel itself (comes with the barrel shroud, though).
Anyone know of some set I might have missed in my googling? Or should I just order the autocannon barrel on its own and source the PKT barrel somewhere else...

Eduard? IIRC, wasn't the last time they made gun barrels somewhere in the early 2000's? Well, had a look, seems only PE sets from them.
But thanks anyway.

Orange Hobby has the set of 2 barrels. Can't remember how much but I think I paid around $10 at the show.

Hi;
There is another maker; Model Point, but they are very hard too source. Just about the only way would be either Soga miniatures or Model35RU, there both out of Eastern Euorpe.
GOOD LUCK; MIKE.

Emeritus.... I've used this company for numerous barrel purchases. He's fast to ship and offers multi item gifts. I highly recommend them(no vested interest in this vendor)
Best of luck

Magic Models from Russia make 2A42 and PKT barrels from brass. They appear to be one-piece. I have used their F-34 barrel in a recent T-34 build and was pleased with it. (No vested interest in this or indeed any company)
The 2A42 used in the BMP-3 does not have the same muzzle brake, so you probably would not take a barrel from a BMP-3 set and mount it on a BMP-2 . . . just my thought . . .
Hope this helps!

Yeah, forgot about the 2A42. RB Models is probably the best one to get for the price. There are other ones with more detail, like the Voyager set, but it is not necessary.

Thanks for the replies everyones! With apparently no autocannon+MG barrel sets around, I went with RB Models' 30mm barrel and ordered one of those.
I'll have to look into the different PKT options out there. Both the TANK resin ones and Voyager's metal barrels look nice, but I'll have to see if there's places with less steep shipping costs. Not that it'd break the bank, but 18 bucks (~16€) to ship a flat item that goes in an envelope...
Absolutely, BMP-3 uses a different, model 2A72 autocannon. It's just that RB Model's BMP-3 gun set includes the PKT machine gun barrel and shroud used in BMP-2. And RB doesn't offer the MG & shroud separately.

I have 6 of the RB Models barrels and all of them are fine. No issues inside the flash suppressor, not sure what the problem was with the sample the guy had in the thread above.
