I know that the kit is not the M4A2 without cutting the rear deck so it is not an accurate Pacific Sherman wader. The M4A3 wader was inappropriate for European D-Day. When was there a use for the M4A3 with waders?

The Marines did use M4A3s with waders in the Pacific. A lot of the late welded hull tanks they used weren't A2s but A3s. So the Italeri kit could be built as an A3 if you change the rear plate and engine deck. Lots of color choices on those USMC tanks....have fun!

The Italeri kit is a pretty good M4A3 out of the box, they provide an engine deck for an M4A2 but don't provide the other detail changes that a true M4A2 needs.
Hope this helps

IIRC, Marine's used the M4A3 w/waders during the Iwo Jima and Okinawa campaigns.
