Hi guys, it's been a while since my last post here so I decided to post some new pictures of my latest Jagdpanther before painting it. Actually I don't want to paint it because it looks so cool as it is now

Muzaffer,
That is some great detail work! I really like how you've put subtle damage on the fenders.

What is the thingy hanging on the chain next to the machine gun on the front slope?

A "plug" cover for the machine gun ball mount location, with the gun taking out of course.

Nicely done. Have you chosen a color scheme? Hope you'll publish pics and after painting.

Cheers!

Thanks Gabriel. Actually I haven't chosen the color scheme yet but most probably it will be one of the Ardennes schemes.

Fantastic work! Unit commander however, might get on your case for letting that tow cable get kinked up like that. Could lead to cable failure at most inopportune time.

Yes, I guess is the best "work clothing" for your beauty.

Waiting for painting,

That's correct. I'll need to reposition it. Thanks.

Muzaffer,

Fabulous looking JP there and as you say, it is (almost) a shame to put some paint on it. I once saw a AFV collection where a chap did what you have with all the metal tracks, turned metal gun tube and etch sets and then...left them 'as is' and they looked great; almost model engineering rather than 'models'.

If the paint job is even half as good as the build and workmanship, you will have a JP to be proud of. Good luck and watching this thread with interest.
Regards
Gary

That build is a work of art WITHOUT the paint. Nicely done indeed. I will be looking forward to your finish.

Best wishes,

Ian

Which metal track did you use? Did you have to modify the drive sprocket to make them fit?

I tried spade ace tracks, they do not seat properly on dragon Panther drive sprockets, the pitch appears slightly off, so only a few links would seat, the others would be held off the sprocket by the remaining teeth.

It does seem to be a shame to cover it all with paint!! But....that's why God gave us cameras,so we can record the thing before we put paint on it!!

I used Friul ATL-08's on Dragon's 6458 Jagdpanther G1 Early kit and they fit just fine. No mods or other aftermarket parts required.

I used Master Club's metal tracks and had no issues with the sprocket fitting.
