OK I have checked every single previous post on this beast and still have some questions so bear with me. First, does anyone have any postable pics of the Bradley with the track width mine plow or its attachment? Second, which variant, the M2 or M3, would be the one which is chosen for the role of mine clearer (I was thinking M3 simply because it is a scout version and therefore would have less troops to lose and would be able to scout out and clear a path for the main force)? Third, what modifications are necessary to make an ODS Bradley (such as APU systems like on the Abrams)? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

PS-When do the 1:72 sclae DML Bradley variants come out?

The mine plow would be attached to an M2 series, not an M3 series. It would most likely be one of the wingman tracks (not the platoon leader or platoon sergeant). The infantry would dismount for a hasty minefield breach and provide overwatch for the breaching vehicle. They would most likely be shooting at enemy ATGM or RPG gunners to give the breaching vehicle a better chance at survival.

Scouts would find the minefields and hand the duties of breaching off to the main force. M3 mounted scouts would dismount and locate the mine fields. They would attempt to find the limits of the mine field by probing and would also attempt to infiltrate a weak point in the field.

As far as a Dragon Bradley, what is wrong with the Revell M2A2/M3A2 Bradley? I have found that the Dragon 1/72 kits are not up to the same standards as the Revell of Germany 1/72 scale kits.

Rob,
Judging from photos I've seen of both models (Dragon's and Revell's) they are both shrunk copies of Tamiya M2A2... They have all the same errors as this kit, so my article about correcting Tamiya kit is also useful for those small scale kits.

It wasn't necessarily a problem I had with the Revell Bradley but I just saw the ODS part and assumed that the DML kit would be more accurate/modern than the Revell kit. Rob, thanks for clarifying that point about which Bradley would have the mine plow. I had read in a previous post that it could be attached to the Bradley and fell in love with the idea. Vodnik, thanks for relaying the article. It will be the second time I have read it but it never crossed my mind in the first place.

FYI, I was real excited when I saw the new Dragon 1/72 scale kits. I grabbed the first one I saw (Elefant) and initially it looked really nice. Superior to the old Esci kit, but not up to standards of even the older Revell of Germany kits. I then scooped up the Dragon M1A1 and M1A2, again, not close to the detail of the Revell kits, although the late T-158 style tracks will be a nice update to the Revell M1A1 just like the Dragon M1A2 parts will be used to update a Revell Abrams.

My daughter got the Panther from a fellow member. Not up to the same standard as the Revell Panther I was working with.

This makes me think that the Dragon Bradley will not be as nice as the Revell one, although if they do include updated details, these will probably find their way to one of the Revell kits.

Here's to hoping that one of the aftermarket companies picks up on this and make the necessary adjustments. A few other questions I came across: Is the track width mine plow used by the Bradley the same as that used by the Abrams? If it is different, would I be able to find pictures of it in the Concord book?

Kyle,

The mine plow for Bradley is completely different design from the one used on M1. Yes, there is at least one picture of Bradley with mine plow in Concord book (maybe more than one, I don't remember now).

Thanks for the info and the picture, Vodnik. Unfortunately, this kind of throws off the look I wanted on the tank, but hey thems the breaks.
