I wonder if this is newly tooled, or just an "upgrade" of their old one?

Hisham, in previous threads about Tamiya it is stated that if the item number begins with a 35 then the models is Tamiya. It is supposed to be a new tooling as well. All of their reboxed kits use a different numbering system.

Eric

Thanks, Eric.. I wasn't really wondering if it was a reboxed Italeri kit or anything like that... just if it's the same old Tamiya kit with a couple of new figures added.. but I guess it's a newly tooled kit.. I'm sure this will make a lot of people happy

This was announced a couple weeks ago, I reported in my site. And it has been stated my Tamiya that there will be some new tooling and it will include 3 figures.

YOU?!.... You missed the news?!!!... I'm shocked...
It is supposed to be all new tooling (it is possible that suspension is at least partially from their recent M4 kits).

I deserve that
Seriously, though.. I've been away from the site for a while, and I don't really follow news anymore, even on Fb, so I'm really out of date on a lot of things

AFAIK, even the suspension would be new-tool as Tamiya's prototype has details missing on their old kits.
The lower hull tub may share the same construction as their recent M4 kits but like the M51 and Easy-Eight, they may not exactly be identical sprues.

Hisham, the news has not been posted here on Armorama yet, but the kit was announced about two weeks ago, so you did not miss it.
