Whats the lineage of U.S. tanker helmets?

From the WWII hard leather to today's CVC.

When did the WW2 helemts go out of style, when did the CVC become standard? And everything in between.

In the late '50s-early '60s, the leather WWII helmets were replaced by a full head hard helmet, like a motorcycle helmet, known as a bone dome.

It was used until the mid to late '70s when it was replaced by the current style CVC.
