Very cool.
I have just one concern. Leaves tend to rot with time... could this fact present a problem with this technique?

I've read somewhere that soaking in glycerine with water in ratio 1:1 and leaving to dry for a week, will preserve natural leaves etc. I will try it soon

Leaves AND rivets - Brilliant ideas both - three cheers!
Why didn't the old railroad conductor's ticket punch give us this idea years ago? Each conductor had his own uniquely shaped punch die.

Outstanding idea!! Instead of using real leaves or paper, which you'd have to paint, I'm gonna try using some artificial plants/flowers you can get at any craft store.
Even my pick-up is panzer grey.
