It has been a while since I last shared anything in this forums. It feels great to be back
This is something I finished last year. Its a Revell T-72M1 that I have had since 2009. I only got inspired to build this after seeing an Iraqi T-72 sporting a US M113 commanders' copula while surfing the net.
The tank was built completely out of the box except for the new copula which I took from an old Trumpeter M113 kit. Hope you like it.

NICE!!! Thanks for including the pic of the real tank. It gives it the proper perspective on the build.

Nice build!
Some nitpicking though First, I may be wrong but the Lion of Babylon refers to Saddam's Republican Guard, your tank depicts a new Iraqi Army tank.
The roadwheels are not the right type.
Do you intend to add some markings? They would give a nice color touch to the overall sand.

Yes I have to agree fully there as The Lion of Babylon was a Saddam era import and was assembled from "kits" of the T-72M.The Iraqi Army is using T-72M1 donated from Hungary.

Welcome back Toby and you've done a very respectable job on this modified version of the T-72. I don't know what other people are seeing but from pictures of both the Lion of Babylon and the Hungarian T-72M1's, the road wheels on both look the same. You've done a nice job of weathering the beast and I was just wondering on what make of "sand" colour you used for the overall colour? In the picture you show at the start, the colour is not quite as yellow as on the model.
Cheers,
Jan

Sorry about the Lion thing. I did not do my research properly. As a veteran modeller, there is no excuse for failing to do more than trust the caption of a photo you saw on the internet.
As for the colors, I used Ammo of Mig's US Desert Sand. I think because I adjusted the brightness of the photo it looks darker, almost like Dark Yellow.
Thank you for your comments, gentlemen
