Hi all,
I am in the process of building the diminutive Meng 1/35th scale French FT-17 light tank. Having, until now, been an observer of this site I intend to submit it as a build log, this being my first build in nearly 40 years...eeeeek! No pressure.
I have read an article that suggests FT-17s served with the British in WW1. My question is this, if they did serve with the British does anyone have information relating to colours and markings that would have been applied?
To-date i've been unable to find any useful information, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Regards
G

Check out the Landships II Forum, they have a few interesting threads on this subject. I have included a link to one of the threads, which has a few disputed photographs. This will at least get you started in the right direction. http://landships.activeboard.com/t27989480/british-operated-renault/?page=1&sort=newestFirst

According to the informations based on official documents you can find here (in French) :
http://pages14-18.mesdiscussions.net/pages1418/Pages-d-Histoire-Artillerie/Artillerie-Speciale-chars-d-assaut/renault-armee-britannique-sujet_585_1.htm
24 FT (AFAIK the FT-17 designation is not correct...) tanks were delivered to the British Army in 1918-19.
Sorry this doesn't really help you with camo and markings...
