Hi all,

Does anyone know whether Meng are still proposing to release their much vaunted Chieftain tank or have they succumbed to the Takom tidal wave?

I have twice emailed Meng directly but have had no responses to-date.

Also, does anyone know if the Amusing Hobby's British Conqueror is still slated for release?

Regards

Ni idea about Meng but recent photos from this years Shizouoka (sp) show had the Amusing Hobby Conqueror and FV214/5 on show. So may be light at the end of the tunnel, if not a release date!!

I am surprised though that the AM guys have not released a correction kit for the Dragon Conqueror, unless they are expecting the AH release?

This is what i have received from them yesterday when i was sorting out a missing part to a leopard kit and asked.

Hello,

Well, our project of the Cheftain mk10 is in progress, but we're afraid that,it's not clear which day it will release.

However, you can serach our website(www.meng-model.com) to read the latest news.

Have a nice day!

Certainly, if I were planning on a Conq AM set I'd wait to see:
a) if the Amusing kit shows up
b) if it's any better than the Dragon pudding
c) whether any features of an update would apply to both kits to increase marketability.

Paul, Accurate Armour have/ had a resin Mk2 in their line up so really easy to produce a correction set. I have no idea what would be involved though. Perhaps they wait for all the reasons you mention.

The problem with a corrected AM set for the DML Conqueror is that it would be pretty much the whole vehicle minus running gear. Just too much to correct economically.

I sincerely hope the Amusing one is a big improvement over Dragons shoddy research and overpriced rubbish
