This is the Tamiya Superfine AB I was going to order.. do you know if it's the same thing like the one you reviewed, just with a bigger cup.. or is this something different?

Hisam that is the same as the one in the review but with a larger paint cup like you stated. Both are dual action and both are .20mm nozzles. Also if you search around (eBay) you can find great deals on airbrushes.

The brush you show in the picture is a later generation brush from the HG Superfine I reviewed. There are shape differences beside the color cup, so I can't tell you they will handle or spray the same. With that being said, the brush I reviewed is still in their lineup, so there may be differences Tamiya feels are enough to justify producing both brushes. I'm sorry but I don't have the larger cup brush to be able to tell you more specifics.

Glad you found the review helpful. I'm always looking for excuses to buy new airbrushes. I've obviously got a problem, since I've been collecting brushes for longer than I care to remember. If good data on brushes had been readily available to me when I was starting I'd probably never have bought a second one, but that train left the station long ago...

I'm trying to cover some of the more commonly available "modeling" brushes I have on hand to help those who may currently be looking for a high quality brush. Later on, if there is enough interest, I'll cover how some of the more esoteric brushes like the Harder Steenbeck .15 Infinity, Badger Sotar 20/20 and Iwata or Olympos Microns handle model paints.

I make no claims towards being an expert at airbrushing; only that I have a pretty good number of brushes available and a willingness to use a standardized method of testing.

I have three Olympos Microns, and a bunch of other Olymposes as well. Great airbrushes. To me, the fact that the Tamiya brush use the same linked design of the trigger was great news. I believe it is the secret to the exellent trigger feel of the Olymposes, just as you say.
And if the Tamiya has a more modern style cup, it might be easier to clean than the Olympos line. I will probably purchase both the 0.2 and the 0.3 versions ASAP. Thanks for the reviews!
