Haven't seen an update on the PMMS since early April I'm I missing something. Always great for new kits.

So very sorry to read the explanations. Had completely miss this. I work in a mental Heath Hospital so I have some understanding. Here's hoping that Terry has a speedy recovery. Miss the information he produced. We are rooting for you mate. Get well soon.

I've suffered with depression/PTSD for about 15 years so know how it feels. Having said that we all suffer with it differently and cope with it in different ways. Hopefully Terry will be on the mend soon and writing again. PMMS is one of my favourite sites and if ever I'm looking at buying something it's my first port of call for reviews as they're the most detailed reviews I've found on the net.

Amen to all the above. Terry is a good bloke and his site is one of the best out there. All best to him.

Just out of curiosity, is there a contingency plan to keep the site up and running and functioning in case anything should happen that would prevent Terry from continuing with the site?

A plan? PMMS is Terry's personal property. And only he can make decisions regarding the site future.

This is the fundamental flaw in the internet! We treat it as if we were publishing hardcopy books that can outlive the author in a library, when in reality every website is only as secure as next month's server-space payment.

Ok... So what if, thinking hypothetically here, he should end up in a serious car accident and be unable to continue with the site? What happens then? Do we just say "Oh well, it's Terry's property so I guess no more updates to PMMS." I understand that the site is Terry's property. I'm simply asking if anyone knows if Terry has a plan to pass on ownership or maintenance of his site to somebody, anybody, else in the case that he, modeling gods forbid, becomes incapacitated in such a way that he is no longer able to continue updating or maintaining the site. What would happen should such an event occur

I bet he would progress better without pressure (real or implied) from readers of his excellent site. Wish him well or leave him be. Insensitive comments he may see will do no good.

I've read his announcements, too. Let's just wish him well and not bug him about what he or someone else may do with HIS site. Ofttimes, Terry would beat everyone else to the punch with new kit announcements, and I would pass the info on to Darren via email. Depression is an awful thing to have to deal with. No one knows what it's actually like unless one has experienced it, or has had a spouse or loved one who has been afflicted by this very debilitating and soul-destroying sickness.
Hope and prayers to Terry...

I want to wish Terry all the best, and hope he gets all the help he needs. I know what it is like, to have somebody with this disease, I spent the last 29yrs with a close family member that had this disease. It is hard on the person and even harder on the Family. I have seen the Good sides and the Bad sides. You just have to remember it is the same person on different days, and always be there when the person needs the help the most. You just need to be there when ask for help. My Mother passed away last year after 29yrs of this disease. Terry, Get Well Soon, you are missed, and I really Appreciate the work you do on your site. Thanks for all that you have done and all you will do when you fill ready. Ronnie

Hi Michael,
I think it's implied in Pawel's response that if (God forbid) Terry becomes unable to maintain the site, that's the end of PMMS. Terry has shut down the site a few times in the past due to personal reasons - albeit temporarily.
I also have veteran friends who suffer from PTSD and have seen the damages it can bring. I'm grateful for all of Terry's work and my prayers go to him as well. Hope he recovers soon.

Michael, there is a very simple solution: print out the PMMS pages you want to save. Then you will indeed have a "book" that will outlast the author.

Thank you for your straightforward, thoughtful and informative response to my straightforward, non-insenstive, curious question. I too wish Terry the best and a speedy recovery.

I would say this. I appreciate what Terry has done with PMMS et all. Just wonderful stuff from an inspirational guy. I like the saying health before wealth. I work in the health sector and see loads of depression at various stages and have suffered myself. I also have PTSD and have lived with that from age 12. Appreciate PMMS, appreciate what is there, not what may or may not be. If the book has ended so be it. May Terry shake the black dog offa his back. May his health be restored. Life simply "Just is".

Just curious if anyone has heard anything from Terry or knows if he's okay. I sure do miss the site updates, as I'm sure most of us do. At the same time, I know all of us are hoping that he's doing fine. Depression sucks, as I'm sure many of us know.

Or, if you have a lot of free HD space, a freeware program called HTTrack Website Copier will archive the website to your HD
