I am in the throes of constructing this armoured car - prompted by the arrival of the Meng version - but as this was in my stash I thought I'd go ahead and make it.

I'm currently wrestling with the turret; I believe the hatches (on the real vehicle) must be of the "lift and swing" type - as opposed to a hinge; but as designed (on the model), with the machine gun ring in place I do not see how the hatch could open, which is what I wish to depict.

It may be of course that I have to re-model the ring by re-aligning the support stanchions. Despite scanning the web I cannot see how this assembly functions.

I appreciate of course that I may have missed something obvious!

Can anybody help with this?

Thanks - in anticipation.

About 3 minutes in they are climbing in and out of the turret and there are good close ups of the hatch assemblies

Re my earlier post I meant to cite Takom as opposed to Meng

Michael,

Many thanks for this; very useful in confirming that they are indeed the lift and swing type. However, I still have the problem in determining how the stanchions of the MG mount are cleared by the hatch when opened. It may just be that Revell got it slightly wrong.

I suspect I may just have to re-align the thing!

Can anyone else clarify...?
