When looking up Wikipedia, I noticed that the BT-7 tank continued to be manufactured during WW2, presumably to supplement the others. Seeing its old design, what was it good for? Besides fighting the weak Kwantung Army?

Other than those that were captured by the German's during Barbarossa there was a few captured by Hungary,Romanian and a couple operated by the German puppet army "The Russian National Liberation Army".Also there a few used during Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation in 1945.

It was comparable to the Panzer 35t and 38t used by the Germans in large numbers in 1941, and its 45 mm gun could knock out early Panzer III and IV tanks. And of course, Panzer II tanks were badly outclassed by it, so while not as technically amazing as the T-34, it could be quite effective when used properly.
