Adam Mann reviews the Bronco Panzer III A for Armorama. Looks encouraging so far. Slightly less over-engineered than the 35(t) kits they put out recently.

Hi, everyone! THANKS, Adam!

I received my BRONCO Pz.III Ausf.A back in December, on Christmas Eve. I'm sure that this kit will make it into a lot of German Armor fans, as well as with collectors of pre-war and WWII Armor fans. No doubt it will also be popular with some modellers of 1/35 military subjects of all eras, such as myself. I've had several projects going all at once, so I've held off on building this particular kit.

I agree with Adam that the Tracks could very well be MODELKASTEN Tracks, right down to the Brown-colored plastic and the small assembly jig. Knowing BRONCO's quality, attention to detail, and well thought out engineering, I'm sure that the more experienced modellers of 1/35 military vehicles will find in this kit a very satisfying build. As with everything else on the market, it's only a matter of time before the Aftermarket Boys get themselves into the act!

The rear deck has the same problems as the MiniArt kits. And my kit was missing the cupola.

What was the issue with the rear deck again?

I think the assumption is that there was an engine deck overhang as on the later marks. This photo shows that was not the case. The overhang hides vents underneath it.

The hull deck is composed of 3 parts IIRC: a front part, the turret ring and the rear deck. All three should be flush, but there is a noticeable 1mm "lip" between the turret ring portion and the rear deck.

My Bronco A is part finished, I was batch building it and Miniart's B and C but the latter two broke my spirit. Have to take your word.

Wow! Sorry to hear that, Bill! Did you send away to BRONCO for the missing parts? Guess I got lucky- My kit was complete.

I wonder if THE NEW TMD will make an Ausf.A "corrections" set like they did for The MINIART Ausf.B, C, and D kits..?

Also, to reiterate what I've said in numerous past posts on this site:

There is NO SUCH THING as a "PERFECT" kit...
